Terms & Conditions

Last updated:

1. Agreement and Acceptance

Welcome to PDFMaking. By using or accessing our website and services (the β€œService”), you agree to these Terms & Conditions (the β€œTerms”). If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Service.

2. About the Service

PDFMaking offers online PDF tools β€” such as editing, converting, merging, splitting, compressing, OCR, and related utilities β€” that allow you to manage PDF files directly in your browser. Features may change over time as we improve the Service.

3. Eligibility & Accounts

You must be at least the minimum age required in your jurisdiction to use the Service. If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service for unlawful or abusive purposes. Prohibited activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Uploading content that infringes intellectual property rights.
  • Uploading content that is illegal, harmful, or offensive.
  • Attempting to access, damage, or disrupt the Service or other users’ files.
  • Using automated systems to access the Service without our permission.

5. User Content and License

You retain ownership of files you upload. By uploading files or using the Service, you grant PDFMaking a non-exclusive license to store, process, and transmit those files as necessary to provide the requested service. We will not claim ownership of your files.

6. File Processing & Retention

Files you upload are processed to perform the requested action (e.g., convert, compress). We retain uploaded files only as long as necessary to complete processing and for a short troubleshooting window, unless you explicitly choose to save files or create an account storage. If you need a file removed sooner, contact us at support@pdfmaking.com with details.

7. Third-Party Services

We use third-party providers for hosting, storage, analytics, payments, and other services. These providers may process data on our behalf and are contractually obligated to protect it. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

8. Paid Services (if applicable)

Some features may require payment. If you subscribe to a paid plan, you agree to the billing terms presented at purchase. Fees are non-refundable except as required by law or as otherwise stated at the point of sale. We may suspend paid services for non-payment.

9. Intellectual Property

The software, design, and content provided by PDFMaking (excluding user files) are owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our proprietary materials without permission.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided β€œas is” and β€œas available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

11. Limitation of Liability

Except where prohibited by law, PDFMaking and its affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service. Our total liability for direct damages will not exceed the amount you paid for the relevant service in the 12 months prior to the claim (or a modest capped amount if you used only free services).

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PDFMaking and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims arising from your violation of these Terms or your use of the Service.

13. Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at our discretion, including for violations of these Terms. Termination of your account will not relieve you of obligations incurred prior to termination.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which PDFMaking operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that jurisdiction, unless otherwise required by law.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post a prominent notice or update the β€œLast updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes indicates acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. Privacy Policy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
